J.C. Leyendecker



J.C. Leyendecker
- American Golden Age Illustrator (1874 - 1951)
- Leyendecker was the most famous post cover artist
- He developed a distinctive brush  technique and a unique use of highlights within shadows.

leyendecker is a great illustrator to look at, especially for illustrators who prefer to work in a more painterly way. He also created the "arrow collar man" and the new year's baby! This is a pretty good biography of the artist:
